Recall Alert- baby sling

I researched slings extensively before I made my decision. This sling was very affordable, but almost all reviews on this product were horrible and thankfully, a recall has been made.

Bag slings are horrible! It's pretty much like wearing your baby in a hobo bag slung around your waist. Babies are meant to be carried high and tight! Have you purchased a sling or a baby carrier?

I have this sling! I used it with Olivia a few times, but I was so afraid she was being suffocated I couldn't even relax. and its awkward.

Aleacia-I have a sling, The Peanut Shell. I have spoken with many people about it (pediatrician, nurses, and other moms) and read great reviews. The problem that comes into play with slings is how low people place the baby- people need to use common sense and realize that the baby won't be able to breathe with their face tucked against the side of a sling. We also have the Baby Bjorn.

Casey- I think I remember you and I talking about this sling, but I didn't remember you had it. Awkward was one of the words used a lot in the reviews and I think women complained of back pain with it too.

Ah, the Peanut Shell, very similar to the Hotsling, is it one size fits all? I bought the Hotsling while pregnant with Alexis and it comes in different sizes, of course you can't size it while pregnant so I had to wait until she was born. Never fit right and I was soooo sad because they come in such cute prints! Not to mention she always felt like she was gonna fall out! EEK! I've heard great things about the Baby Bjorn, we had the cheaper "Snugli" with Charlotte...actually still have it, never thought it held her close enough though. If you are ever interested in maybe trying a wrap you are more than welcome to try out our Moby and our Mei Tai!
Way to go btw for wearing your baby!! :)

No, Peanut isn't one size fits all, but since I didn't really gain too much weight, (pretty much just the baby/water/placenta going on here) I was able to estimate pretty well where I will be. I am definitely NOT a small...LMAO.

Hotslings was not rated well either.

Aleacia you seem very passionate about this subject, its really not a big deal, common sense will tell you not to put a newborn in a sling that could potentially suffocate them. Anyone with functioning instincts will know whats right for your baby. Everyone has an opinion about what works and doesn't work but you certainly don't need to push your opinions on other people.

What ever happened to good ol' fashion holding your baby in your arms?

I don't think I'm pushing opinions on anyone. I said bag slings suck, I wish the hotsling fit me, heard the baby bjorn was great and I have some wraps you can try too and way to go for wearing your baby! Sorry if it came across as something else
